RO raises objections on Qasim Suri’s nomination papers

QUETTA: Returning Officer raised objections on the nomination papers of Qasim Suri, former Deputy Speaker National Assembly and Senior Vice President, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf for contesting election from NA-263-Quetta. PTI sought detail of objections in black and white from the Returning Officer.

According to detail, instead of appearing in person before the Returning Officer for scrutiny of nomination papers for NA-263-Quetta, team of lawyers of Qasim Suri along with his approver and seconder appeared before the Returning Officers, however, the RO raised objections on the nomination papers.

Talking to media on the occasion, Sardar Khadim Hussain Wardug, leader of PTI said, “Despite the completion of all requirements prescribed for nomination papers in respect of Qasim Suri for contesting election-2024 from NA-263, Quetta, Returning Officer raised objections on it”, adding that the Returning Officer had been requested to provide detail of objection in black and white. Khadim Hussain Wardug said that levelling objections on Qasim Suri regarding his involvement in the incidents of May 09 were false. Moreover, large number of security personnel had been deployed outside the office of Quetta Officer in view of the arrival of Qasim Suri.

It is also necessary to be mention that Quetta Police raided the house of Qasim Suri, former Deputy Speaker National Assembly and Senior Vice President, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) in Hanna Urak area of Quetta.
