Representative Delegation of Stranded Pakistanis in Bangladesh Meets Sindh Governor, Syed Muhammad Nihal Hashmi

Sindh Governor, Syed Muhammad Nihal Hashmi, today emphasized the need for more effective measures to resolve the long-standing issues of Pakistanis stranded in Bangladesh, and presented honorable local rehabilitation as a possible solution.

During a meeting at Governor House, a delegation representing the Stranded Pakistanis General Repatriation Committee (SPGRC), led by Haroon Rashid, presented the wide-ranging challenges faced by these communities.

The committee outlined the prolonged issues affecting these individuals, insecure economic conditions, and complex legal obstacles. They advocated for the establishment of a robust negotiating panel, involving all relevant parties, to find a sustainable solution. Furthermore, the delegation emphasized the importance of incorporating the affected population’s views into the policy-making process.

In response, Governor Hashmi suggested that the honorable local integration of these Pakistani citizens in Bangladesh provides a potentially effective and crucial path.

He pledged to intensely raise this important humanitarian issue at appropriate forums, to provide relief to the affected individuals. The Governor also affirmed the government’s sincere efforts to achieve a viable, long-term solution for this issue.
