An important meeting was held between Chief Secretary Sindh, Asif Hyder Shah and Mayor Karachi, Barrister Murtaza Wahab, with Additional Chief Secretary Local Government, Khalid Haider Shah, and Municipal Commissioner, Muhammad Afzal Zaidi, also in attendance.
The discussion focused on the removal of encroachments in Karachi, road repairs, and other development initiatives in the city. During the meeting, it was decided that Assistant Commissioners would be given additional powers to expedite the process of removing encroachments, ensuring more efficient action. Chief Secretary Sindh specifically directed that all encroachments around hospitals in the city be removed immediately to ensure that the public has unhindered access to healthcare facilities.
Wahab, also informed that the Chief Minister of Sindh has approved Rs. 1.5 billion for the repair and reconstruction of roads damaged by recent rains.
Additionally, steps will be taken to improve the drainage system in the city to prevent future disruptions. Chief Secretary Sindh, Asif Hyder Shah, further emphasized that the KMC bus service will be modernized, and the pension issues of KMC employees will be resolved swiftly to ensure their welfare.
