LAHORE: Provincial Minister for Social Welfare and Bait-ul-Mal (SW and BM) Syed Yawar Abbas Bukhari has said that the real Islam is to serve humanity. Center of international standards for the rehabilitation of oppressed women in society would be set up. Incident happened in Greater Iqbal Park is a black mark on our society.
Addressing the function of “Hamdard” program under the auspices of Punjab Bait-ul-Mal Council as the chief guest, he said that the social welfare department would be fully digitized to further improve the welfare work. Amin Bait-ul-Mal Punjab Malik Mohammad Azam presided over the function while Chairman Akhuwat Foundation Dr Amjad Saqib specially attended the function.
Provincial minister SW and BM said in his address that the process of registration of NGOs would be done online so that unnecessary NOCs could be eliminated. However, he categorically said that the monitoring system of NGOs will also be tightened and now the report of NGOs will be quarterly instead of annual. Syed Yawar Abbas Bukhari said that transgender have to be accepted as a reality in the society. “We will not allow anyone to make fun of transgenders but will help them to become useful members of society” vowed the minister.
Amin Bait-ul-Mal Punjab Malik Mohammad Azam said that he went from village to village during Corona and carried out relief work. Rations were distributed to 50,000 families during the first intense wave of corona. He said that marriage committees would be set up in every district with the help of philanthropists so that the marriages of helpless girls could be made possible. “Collective wedding ceremonies will begin next month” announced the Amin. He said that in the first ceremony, 100 hundred couples will be married.
Dr Amjad Saqib, Chairman, Akhuwat Foundation said that the ‘Raman Meg Sai Sai’, the highest award for welfare service in Asia, award is an honor for the whole of Pakistan. “Doing good is a reward in itself. No reward is required for this”, Dr Saqib said. It is an honor for me to receive congratulations from Prime Minister Imran Khan. In order to achieve the goal of establishing the state of Madinah, a culture of selfless service must be nurtured.
