Reconciliation policy required in Balochistan, says NP leader

Central Secretary General, National Party, Senator Jan Muhammad Buledi has said instead of military operation, policy of reconciliation was required in Balochistan, according to a statement issued by the central media cell of National Party on Wednesday. Taking the floor of senate, Buledi said that the process of negotiations started with Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf was a positive step and it should have been fruitful.

He said that All Parties had been staging protest sit-in in Gwadar for the last one month, demanding the removal of restrictions on border business, ending illegal check posts and imposing ban on illegal hunting of fish in Gwadar sea, but regretfully instead of addressing the demands of protesters, police raided the home of the Convener of Gwadar protest sit-in, demolished his guest room and pressurised him to end the protest sit-in.

He said that political space in Balochistan was ending with the passage of time, adding that record rigging in 15 polling stations during re-polling in one of Quetta’s constituencies of Balochistan Provincial Assembly was a clear cut message for all the political parties that no room was left for politics in Balochistan.

He said that on daily basis main highways of the province were being blocked, creating problems for thousands of people travelling on the highways. He said enforced disappearance of youths in the province was occurring on daily basis, adding that writ of the government did not exist in Balochistan, but neither the state nor the government was fulfilling its responsibility. He said that government was not according importance to Senate, adding Prime Minister was visiting the world but he had not bothered to pay a visit to senate.
