Federal Minister for Industries, Production and Food Security, Rana Tanveer Hussain chaired a meeting here in Islamabad on Saturday related to the production of GMO soybean.

Speaking on the occasion, he said there is no impediment to the import of the GMO soybean. The Minister said that, however, Ministry of Climate Change has some reservations in this regard.

He said a committee will be constituted that will make consultation with the Climate Change Ministry and other stakeholders on this issue. Rana Tanveer Hussain said the issue of production of GMO soybean also came under discussion in the meeting.
