Islamabad: Federal Minister for Interior Affairs Rana Sanaullah said Thursday Imran Khan should be arrested by the investigation team and proceed with the case as per the law.

Rana Sanaullah addressed a press conference and said despite several orders, Imran Khan did not appear before the Lahore High Court. He said Imran Khan has made fun of the respected courts and the laws of the country and strict notice of this act should be taken against him.

He said they will be tackled by iron hands and a free hand to them should be ended. He also said that the ‘Imrani cult’ is behind the new audio tape related to former Chief Minister Pervaiz Elahi’s talks against the judiciary. He also announced doing a forensic audit of this audio and then action against the accused if proven will be taken.

Rana Sanaullah said in his view, Imran Khan should be arrested, adding that the Imrani group is dictating the court and despite repeated court orders, Imran Khan did not appear before the court. Giving details of the audio leaks, Rana Sanaullah said another person from the Imrani group is also involved in the audio leak as they are managing the cases very boldly. The interior minister said FIA should register a case against Pervaiz Elahi and arrest him, and also made a forensic audit of his voice related to the audio tape.

If Pervaiz Elahi is arrested, the second man will also unveil, he added. Sanaullah announced having another audio tape of Pervaiz Ealhi and said they are getting a forensic audit of it and after the forensic audit, the matter should be referred to the Judicial Commission.

In the press conference, he also played the audio tape conversation between allegedly Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi and an unknown person. He demanded the court to take up the matter of audio tape to expose everything behind it. He said Farah Gogi and Mohammad Khan Bhatti committed record corruption in Punjab in the last tenure of the PTI.
