Rally Staged in Rawalakot against Karachi Agreement Act 74

A rally was organized in Rawalakot on Monday against the Karachi Agreement Act 74 on the occasion of the death anniversary of Amanullah Khan, the supreme head of the Jammu Kashmir Liberation Front.

Thousands of people from Gilgit, Skardu, and across Azad Kashmir participated in this rally. The rally commenced from Captain Hussain Khan Shaheed Post Graduate College Rawalakot, led by Yasin Malik’s special representative Rafiq Dar, Saleem Haroon (Srinagar), Engineer Nasir Kaput, Mozan Ali (Gilgit), and other prominent freedom fighters. The participants carried pictures of Shaheed Maqbool Butt, Amanullah Khan, and Yasin Malik.

During the march in the city of Rawalakot, participants chanted slogans against the Karachi Agreement and Act 74. They demanded the restoration of the revolutionary government, the reinstatement of the independent army, and the return of lent officers. At the end of the march, participants reached Sabir Shaheed Stadium, where a large gathering was held.

In a unanimous resolution during the gathering, the immediate annulment of the Karachi Agreement, Act 74, and the Shimla Agreement was demanded. Participants stated that Gilgit-Baltistan is not disputed because of the Karachi Agreement, but rather the presence of UN forces there proves it to be disputed. The immediate implementation of the restoration of the revolutionary government and the Action Committee’s charter of demands was requested.
