QUETTA: Haq Du Tehreek Chairman and elected MPA from Gwadar, Moulana Hidayat-ur-Rehman, said on Wednesday that the recent rains had exposed the claims of turning Gwadar into international cities like Dubai or Singapore.

Talking to media outside Balochistan Provincial Assembly after taking oath, he said that roads and streets of Gwadar had been inundated with rain water, adding that he was the son of a poor fisherman and was given a ride by a his friend to attend the session of Balochistan Provincial Assembly for taking oath.

He said that people used assemblies for business purposes and their own vested interests rather than serving the people. He said that representatives of people would have to be accountable before Almighty Allah and people, adding that he would try to address the problems of the people of Gwadar.

He said that it was being claimed for the last 40 years that Gwadar was progressing and would turn into Dubae or Singapore, but recent rains had exposed the tall claims.
