Balochistan Disaster Management Authority says continuous rains in parts of the province have disrupted communication infrastructure, which is hampering the restoration and rehabilitation efforts.

In a statement, the Authority said the worst affected districts by incessant rainfall include Sohbatpur, Jaffarabad, Sibi, Chaman, Khuzdar, Pishin, Zhob, Musa Khel, Naseerabad, Jhal Magsi, Lasbela and Quetta.

It said the heavy showers caused flash flooding in Sohbatpur and surroundings where FC conducted rescue operations employing boats and shifted affected populations to safe locations.

The PDMA said reaching to a few isolated villages remains to be a challenge.

The PDMA in coordination with NDMA, Army, Navy, Air Force, FC and NGOs has enhanced efforts to provide maximum relief to the flood-affected people.
