Pakistan Meteorological Department informed on Tuesday that heavy rainfalls may generate flash flooding in local nullahs and streams of Kashmir, northeast Punjab, upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Koh Sulaiman and adjoining hilly areas of eastsouth Balochistan on 30th and 31st July.
According to PMD report, urban flooding may also occur in the low-lying areas of northeastsouth Punjab, Peshawar, Karachi including lower Sindh during the forecast period as monsoon currents are penetrating from Bay of Bengal and Arabian Sea in uppereastern parts and likely to penetrate in central and southern parts of the country. A trough of westerly wave is also affecting northern parts of the country.
Tuesday weather: Rain-windstorm and thundershower is expected in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Gilgit-Baltistan, Kashmir, Islamabad, Punjab, southeastern Sindh and Balochistan. Heavyfalls may also occur at isolated places in upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Kashmir, Pothohar region and south Balochistan during the period.
Wednesday weather: Rain-windstorm and thundershower is expected in upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Gilgit-Baltistan, Kashmir, Islamabad, Punjab, southeastern Sindh and south Balochistan. Heavyfalls may also occur at isolated places in Kashmir, northeastern Punjab, Pothohar region and south Balochistan during the period.
