President, Quetta Bar Association, Qari Rehmatullah Advocate, on Saturday called on the authorities to withdraw the names of lawyers from the FIR lodged by the authorities of Levies Station Killa Abdullah and investigate the issue regarding maltreatment faced by senior Advocate Jaffar Raza Khan at the hands of Quetta police.
Addressing a press conference at Quetta Press Club, he said that nominating Naseebullah Advocate, Hameedullah Advocate, Waris Mehmood Advocate and Aamir Naseeb Advocate in the FIR No. 11/24 lodged at Levies Station Killa Abdullah was a condemnable act and in no way acceptable to Quetta Bar Association.
He called on the Commissioner Quetta Division and Deputy Commissioner Killa Abdullah to withdraw the names of lawyers from FIR after conducting fair and transparent investigation into the issue. He remarked, “We would like to make it clear that no fabricated FIR against legal fraternity was acceptable to Quetta Bar Association.”
He said that in another incident, senior lawyer of the province Jaffar Raza was not only maltreated by Quetta police but was also kept in the police station. He called on the authorities to take notice of the incident and place the services of responsible police officers and officials under suspension.
