LAHORE: Chief Minister Punjab Chaudry Pervaiz Elahi has said the Punjab government would provide 64,500 metric tons wheat to the rain and flood affected areas of Balochistan.
These views were expressed by him while talking to Engineer Zamrak Khan Achakzai, Minister for Food, Balochistan who called on him here on Wednesday. Expressing concern over the dearth of wheat in Balochistan, he said that wheat would be provided to Balochistan on cost rate basis, adding that government of Balochistan would be extended assistance by the government of Punjab to overcome nutrition deficiency in Balochistan.
Despite confronting acute dearth of wheat in Punjab, wheat was being provided to Balochistan as a goodwill gesture, said he. Thanking Chaudry Pervaiz Elahi for his assistance to Balochistan, Engineer Zamrak Khan Achakzai, Minister for Food, Balochistan said that step taken by the Chief Minister, Punjab to help assist the rain and flood affectees of Balochistan would prove to be beneficial for promotion of inter-provincial harmony between Punjab and Balochistan. On the occasion, Sardar Hasnain Bahadur Dresak, Minister for Food, Punjab, Provincial Advisor, Aamir Saeed and Secretary Food, Punjab were also present.
