Punjab Seeks Spanish Expertise in Urban Planning and Climate Change

Lahore:Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif has shown interest in leveraging Barcelona's urban planning experience to make roads and public spaces more people-friendly.

According to Radio Pakistan, the Chief Minister discussed these interests during a meeting with Ambassador of Spain Carlos Aragon Gil de la Serna in Lahore. She emphasized the need to learn from Spain's strategies in addressing climate change challenges and reducing smog.

Maryam Nawaz Sharif praised Spain's decision to recognize the State of Palestine and commended the Spanish government for this step. She also proposed creating a joint working group to tackle issues such as forest fires, air pollution, and heatwaves.

The Spanish Ambassador reciprocated by expressing a desire to enhance cooperation between Spain and Punjab.
