LAHORE: Punjab Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) on Wednesday claimed to have killed two terrorists in a gunbattle in Bhakkar after they entered Punjab from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

According to a CTD spokesman, the slain terrorists belonged to a banned outfit and the CTD team also seized a large quantity of explosives from their possession. The spokesman said those terrorists were wanted to police in connection with an attack on a sensitive government installation.

The CTD spokesman further said when the counter-terrorism personnel tried to confront four terrorists near Ravi Morr in Bahakkar, they opened fire on them. However, two terrorists were killed in the retaliatory firing by the CTD jawans while the other two managed to escape.

Heavy weapons, explosives and ammunition were seized from the slain terrorists, said the CTD spokesman, adding efforts were being made to identify the terrorists.
