PTI leaders, supporters arrested for protesting against poll rigging

LAHORE: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leaders and supporters protesting against poll rigging and irregularities in the Feb 8 polls result ertr arrested in Lahore on Saturday.

Police have detained PTI leaders Mian Shehzad Farooq and Hafiz Zeeshan, among others. PTI supporters staged a protest and chanted slogans against alleged rigging and tampering in the Feb 8 polls results at GPO Chowk, Lahore.

The Insaf Lawyers Forum, along with PTI supporters, gathered outside the Lahore High Court and staged the protest.

A heavy contingent of police has been deployed at GPO Chowk to avert any mishap, and water cannons have been placed to disperse the protesters and prevent misconduct.

It is pertinent to note that PTI has called for protests across the country against their alleged stolen mandate and rigging in the general elections.
