PTI initiates reparations for Karachi rally

KARACHI: President of PTI Sindh, Haleem Adil Sheikh, along with PTI leaders, on Wednesday initiated preparations for the April 28 rally in Karachi.

In this connection, Mr Sheikh accompanied by PTI leaders Khurram Sher Zaman, Raja Azhar, Fahim Khan, Agha Arsalan, Arsalan Khalid, Fiza Zeshan, Advocate Shujaat Ali Khan, Advocate Nazirullah Mahsud, Rana Waseem, members of the Sindh Assembly Rehan Bandokda, Bial Jadoon, Surbuland Khan and PTI workers paid laid a floral wreath at Quaid’s mausoleum and offered prayers for Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah and special prayers for the nation’s progress and prosperity. They also inspected preparations for the PTI rally on April 28 at Bagh-e-Jinnah Ground.

Speaking to the media, Sheikh emphasized, “We are the descendants of Pakistan’s founders. Today, by visiting Quaid’s mausoleum, we have kickstarted preparations for the PTI Karachi rally on April 28. The Karachi rally will be historic, addressing the vision of Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah for the rule of law in the country. Currently, Imran Khan is championing this cause.”

Further commenting on the rally’s significance, Sheikh remarked, “Today, the PTI leadership has paid homage at Quaid’s mausoleum. On February 8, the hopes of the nation were shattered on election day. It was expected to witness fair and transparent elections, ensuring true democracy. However, discrepancies were observed where those who did not win on Form 45 were declared winners on Form 47.”

Highlighting the nationwide protests against the alleged mandate theft, Sheikh stressed, “The mandate theft has been a nationwide issue, with Karachi bearing the brunt. We have taken legal action against this injustice. On April 28, a public gathering will be held in Karachi. The people of Karachi have overwhelmingly supported PTI, but their mandate was stolen. We urge Karachi’s citizens to participate in the rally, demanding the return of their mandate and the release of Founder Chairman Imran Khan.”

Adding to this, Sheikh stated, “Accountability is essential for those who tampered with our mandate. The descendants of Pakistan’s movement participants will join the rally. We extend invitations to Jamaat-e-Islami, GDA, and other parties whose mandates were affected. Karachi faces security challenges with increasing target killings and rising street crime. The rally will address these concerns. We call upon Karachi’s citizens to join us. The fight for judicial freedom continues.”

PTI leader Khurram Sher Zaman emphasized, “Karachi’s residents have consistently supported PTI. In 2024, despite witnessing a significant electoral change where all our Karachi seats were lost, the people demand accountability for mandate theft. This forthcoming rally in Karachi will be monumental, showcasing PTI’s inclusive approach. All Karachi winners will rally with their voters.”

PTI Karachi President Raja Azhar expressed, “Despite claims of PTI’s demise, we have applied thrice to DC East for rally permission. The Sindh government’s reluctance indicates their fear of PTI. We trust in obtaining permission. Karachi, being the backbone of Pakistan, will lead the real freedom movement. The rally will proceed, advocating for people’s rights. Karachi stands in solidarity with Imran Khan.”
