ISLAMABAD:Senator Irfan Siddiqui has said constitutional provision of holding elections within 90 days has become ineffective and now, whenever elections are held under Article 254 of the Constitution, they will be considered valid and constitutional.
In a tweet on Thursday, he said Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) is not only asking for a new date for elections but it is also demanding that Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM) coalition government should dissolve three assemblies as dissolution of two assemblies is not serving its purpose.
Meanwhile, Prime Minister’s Special Assistant Malik Ahmad Khan has said that recent audio leak of Saqib Nisar’s son has exposed the ex-Chief Justice who convicted PML-N leadership in various take cases.
Speaking to media here in Islamabad on Thursday, he said the alleged audio is a clear violation of the judges’ code of conduct. He said all political parties should play the role in conducting elections of all assemblies at same time. Malik Ahmad Khan further said, judges should announce the verdicts in light of evidences instead of their political inclination.
