On the directives of the Prime Minister, the Pakistan Telecommunication Authority has started to take practical steps to protect consumers’ data.
According to the Head of Strategic Reforms at Prime Minister office Salman Sufi, the PTA authorities were directed to impose fines on the telecommunications companies for providing mobile phone user data to advertising companies without permission.
He said all technical regulations in this regard will be completed by the end of this month.
