Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Governor Faisal Kareem Kundi said that providing a dignified life to disabled children is everyone’s collective responsibility. He emphasized that a compassionate society cannot be built without providing equal opportunities to persons with disabilities. These children are not just the burden of their parents, but a trust of the whole society, and it is everyone’s responsibility to make them respectable citizens.

Governor Kundi expressed these views while addressing a wheelchair distribution ceremony for disabled children organized by the Asghar Mahmand Foundation at Governor House Peshawar. The chairman of the foundation, Asghar Khan Mahmand, social workers, guardians, disabled children and people from different walks of life were present on the occasion. The Governor met the children and their families and distributed wheelchairs among eight children. Asghar Khan Mahmand briefed the Governor about the objectives of the foundation and highlighted the dedication of the organization’s young volunteers.

Governor Kundi praised the work of the Asghar Mahmand Foundation and lauded its efforts to rehabilitate, educate and create employment opportunities for persons with disabilities, as well as raise awareness about their health. He mentioned the Pakistan Peoples Party’s continuous practical steps for the underprivileged, including the Benazir Income Support Program, Lady Health Workers, reserved seats for women, and the Women’s Bank. He informed that approximately one crore women are benefiting from the Benazir Income Support Program. Governor Kundi further said that Governor House is open to all sections of society and a sports awards ceremony for the talented players of the province will be held soon. He concluded the ceremony by distributing certificates from Governor House among the volunteers of the foundation.
