Sindh Governor, Kamran Khan Tessori, in a message on Wednesday on International White Cane Day, has said that providing a dignified and safe environment for visually impaired individuals is the government’s priority, in which he described the white cane as a symbol of autonomy and assurance for the visually impaired. Tessori appealed to society to provide a convenient environment for these individuals and emphasized the government’s commitment to providing them with a dignified and safe environment.
The Governor highlighted the white cane not merely as a tool but as a symbol of dignity and self-reliance. According to Tessori, the observance of this day should serve as a means to raise public awareness about the challenges faced by visually impaired individuals and the importance of community support.
Making a direct appeal, the Governor requested the public to show consideration and understanding for visually impaired individuals, especially in traffic and public places. He stressed that joint efforts are crucial in protecting and promoting the rights of the visually impaired community.
