Protests, rallies banned in Punjab

Amid political polarisation, the Punjab government has imposed Section 144 the province.

The Punjab Home Department has issued a notification regarding the enforcement of Section 144 through the province.

According to the notification, the implementation of Section 144 will be effective from Friday, October 18, to Saturday, October 19. During the period, all kinds of protests, rallies and similar activities will be prohibited across Punjab.
