LARKANA:The meeting of all the headmasters of the primary schools of Larkana City has unanimously demanded posting of a proper Taluka Education Officer (TEO) in Larkana which is vacant for three months.

The meeting was held here on Friday at the Shah Muhammad Urdu School under the chairmanship of Primary Teachers Association (PTA), City Larkana, President Irshad Ali Tunio which was participated by Ashfaq Ahmed Dhamrah, Aslam Deedar, Talib Mughal, Azhar Dayo, Mumtaz Ali Soomro and others.

They said that without DDO powers the teachers community is facing great hardships including their retirement and GP Fund entry in their service book besides other issues which need to be resolved on an urgent basis. They further demanded that potential appointment of headmasters of grades 17, 18 and 19 from the secondary side in primary schools is illegal. If such an experiment is done in Larkana, there will be a full protest. They said that after completing the appointment phase of new teachers, the salaries of the teachers should be released atonce.

The changes of headmasters made on political grounds should be withdrawn immediately. The shortage of teachers in the schools of Larkana city and talukas should be filled with sweepers and watchmen. Solar systems and clean drinking water RO plants should be installed in all the primary schools without discrimination or involvement of politicians. The charge of primary school furniture should be withdrawn from the Director Secondary and it should be made on need basis on top priority basis without political interference.

Illegal primary schools have been merged into high schools which should be withdrawn to end restlessness. The schools where flood victims were staying have suffered a lot of losses which should be repaired and it must be ensured that those schools work properly. All the primary schools should be repaired as soon as possible so that education of children should not suffer at any cost.

The participants said that they will visit all the primary schools within the next 20 days and if the legitimate problems are not resolved then a huge protest movement will be conducted by the PTA against the powers that be.
