President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif today reaffirmed Pakistan’s unwavering backing for the Kashmiri people’s right to self-determination.

In separate pronouncements marking Kashmir Martyrs’ Day, both leaders pledged Pakistan’ss continued political, ethical, and diplomatic assistance until Kashmiris achieve self-governance in accordance with UN resolutions.

The leaders described the day as a testament to the enduring fortitude and resistance of Kashmiris against oppressive forces in their pursuit of liberty. President Zardari commended the Kashmiri people’s steadfast bravery and sacrifices in their decades-long struggle against Indian control. He called upon international bodies and human rights groups to address the alleged state terrorism and human rights violations in the occupied region.

Prime Minister Sharif emphasized the ongoing sacrifices made by Kashmiris in their fight for self-determination. He reiterated Pakistan’s commitment to supporting their cause.
