President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif have paid tribute to the Pakistan Navy for its courage, professionalism, and contributions to national defense.

In their messages on Navy Day, they highlighted the Navy’s heroic role during the 1965 war, particularly in Operation Somnath, which demonstrated its valor by targeting the Indian port of Dwarka. The President emphasized the Pakistan Navy”s transformation into a modern, multi-dimensional force, maintaining vigilance along the country”s coastline.

He honored the sacrifices of martyrs and the resilience of veterans, expressing confidence in the Navy’s ongoing commitment to ensuring maritime security and fostering regional peace.

The Prime Minister also commended the Pakistan Navy’s recent success in Operation Marka-e-Haq, underlining its expanding role beyond defense. He noted its contributions to enhancing the blue economy, port development, and providing humanitarian aid.

He stated that the Navy’s efforts in securing maritime communication routes and offering disaster relief have bolstered Pakistan”s dignity and prestige on the global stage.

Chief of Naval Staff Admiral Naveed Ashraf lauded the Navy’s resilience and readiness in safeguarding maritime interests and ensuring uninterrupted trade. He highlighted the Navy”s role in leveraging the nation”s Blue Economy to foster sustainable growth and deliver significant economic benefits.

He announced the upcoming second Pakistan International Maritime Exhibition and Conference, scheduled from November 3 to 6 in Karachi, as a platform to showcase these advancements.
