Barrister Sultan Mahmood Chaudhry, President of Azad Jammu and Kashmir, emphasized the significance of YoumeTakbeer in his special message, stating that the nuclear tests conducted on May 28, 1998, established a balance of power between Pakistan and India. He noted that Pakistan’s nuclear program was initiated by the then Prime Minister, Shaheed Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto, while Shaheed Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto introduced missile technology, strengthening Pakistan’s defense.
The President warned that both Pakistan and India are nuclear powers, and any incident between them could lead to a major war, affecting global peace. He stated that peace in South Asia lies in resolving the Kashmir issue, as there have already been three conventional wars between Pakistan and India over this matter.
He expressed concern that, God forbid, if a war breaks out now, it would be a nuclear war, posing a threat to the peace of the entire region and the world. The President appealed to the international community to play its role in resolving the Kashmir issue between Pakistan and India.
Furthermore, the President stressed the importance of involving the Kashmiri people at the negotiation table for a comprehensive and sustainable solution to the Kashmir issue. He urged the global community to ensure the Kashmiri people’s right to selfdetermination in accordance with United Nations resolutions.
