Interior Minister Rana Sana Ullah Khan says the President is bound to act on the advice of Prime Minister and deviating from it would be unconstitutional.

In a statement on Monday, he asked the President and Governor Punjab to abide by the constitution and the order of Supreme Court.

He said the Supreme Court had ruled that President does not have any inherent or residual power.

The Minister said office of the president in parliamentary democracy is symbolic and it does not have the veto power.
