President Asif Ali Zardari has expressed deep grief over the human and material loss due to the torrential rains and floods in different parts of the country.

In his condolence statement on Friday, he expressed solidarity with the bereaved families and directed the authorities concerned to speed up rescue and relief activities in the affected areas.

The President also stressed the need for taking preventive measures to avert loss of precious lives and property. He urged the administrations concerned to take timely steps for drainage of rain water and preventing emergencies.
