President calls for cementing Pakistan-Tunisia economic collaboration

President Dr Arif Alvi has called for greater economic collaboration between Pakistan and Tunisia to boost bilateral trade.

He was talking to Pakistan’s Ambassador-designate to Tunisia Javed Ahmed Umrani who called on him in Islamabad today.

The President underscored the need for enhancing interactions between the Chambers of Commerce and Industry of both countries.

He said Pakistan greatly values its historical and brotherly ties with Tunisia and both countries have commonality of views on various issues.

The President asked the ambassador to play his role in further strengthening bilateral relations especially in the fields of education, culture, and defense.

He asked the ambassador to expose India’s real face by highlighting human rights violations in Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir and issues of Islamophobia and mistreatment of minorities in India.

Dr Arif Alvi acknowledged Tunisia’s vision for making OIC a substantive platform for advancing interfaith harmony and addressing international issues including Jammu and Kashmir, Palestine and Islamophobia.

He also welcomed Tunisia’s support to the resolution presented by Pakistan at the UN Human Rights Council on “Countering Religious Hatred”.
