ISLAMABAD:President Dr Arif Alvi has departed for Saudi Arabia to perform Hajj.

According to a report on Sunday, the family members of Dr Arif Alvi are also accompanying the president. In the absence of Dr Alvi, Senate Chairman Sadiq Sanjrani has assumed the duties of acting president of Pakistan.

The Cabinet Division has issued a notification of his appointment as the acting president of Pakistan.
