Pakistan Railways has decided to restore Sir Syed Express between Karachi Cantonment to Rawalpindi from first of next month.
According to Railway official information on Sunday, scheduled stops include Drigh Road, Hyderabad, Rohri, Bahawalpur, Khanewal, Faisalabad, Sangla Hill, Hafizabad, Wazirabad, Gujrat, and Jhelum. On its journey from Rawalpindi to Karachi, the train will also make a stop at Landhi Railway Station.
Earlier, Pakistan Railways announced a significant reduction in fares for all classes of passenger trains, effective from August 3.
In the new fare structure, AC class tickets have seen a decrease ranging from Rs100 to Rs150, providing substantial savings for passengers travelling in the higher class. Meanwhile, economy class fares have been reduced by Rs50, making train travel more affordable for a larger segment of the population.
This fare reduction applies to all passenger trains operating nationwide, aiming to encourage more people to utilize railway services and ease the financial burden on regular commuters.
