Minister for Planning and Development Ahsan Iqbal has said poverty alleviation is inevitable for achieving sustainable development goals (SDGs).

Addressing a ceremony here in Islamabad on Thursday, he called for making collective efforts to address the issues of common man.

The Planning and Development Minister said there is a dire need of paying special attention on education sector to achieve the goal of poverty alleviation.

He said the incumbent government is making efforts to tackle socio-economic challenges and issues of the downtrodden segments of society.

Ahsan Iqbal said the successful holding of Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) Council of Heads of the Government meeting has further improved the positive image of the country.
