QUETTA: Sajid Hussain Turi, Federal Minister for Overseas Pakistanis and Human Resources Development said Monday that all possible measures were being adopted for the welfare of labourers.
These views were expressed by him while addressing a function held in Nawa Killi area of the provincial capital to inaugurate 400 flats for the labourers. “Instead of hollow promises, we believe in providing actual relief to the masses”, said Turi.
He said: “The government of Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) had started the project to construct 400 flats for the labourers of Balochistan”, adding that project, which had been launched by the previous government of PPP, had now been completed. He said that providing homes to the poor was the slogan of PPP and Bilawal Bhutto Zardari was to fulfil the promise made with the people of the country.
He said it was being strived to address the issues of “Bread, “Cloth” and “House” of all the citizens of the country. Turi said that the authorities of Workers Welfare Board of all the provinces had been directed to expedite completing the construction work of Flats and Labour Colonies in their respective provinces, adding that flats would also be allotted to the labourers serving in private companies, adding that all facilities, including schools and play grounds, would be provided to the Labour colonies.
He said that vocational centres would be established in different cities of Balochistan for imparting vocational training upon the labourers who intended to go abroad. On the occasion, Minister for Labour and Manpower, Nawabzada Guhram Bughti, Secretary, Labour and Manpower Department, Secretary, Workers Welfare Board and representatives of different Labour Unions were also present. Sajid Hussain Turi, Federal Minister for Overseas Pakistanis and Human Resources Development also attended a function in Workers Welfare Board Girls High School, Quetta.
