Five persons, including two levies constables, one police constable and two lady polio workers, were injured after polio teams were attacked by unidentified miscreants in Chaman, an area bordering neighbouring country Afghanistan, on Monday.
Talking to PPI, Deputy Commissioner, Chaman, Captain (Retd) Athar Abbas said that polio teams were attacked by unidentified miscreants in Chaman, resultantly, five persons, including two levies constables, one police constable deputed for the security of polio teams and two lady polio workers, were injured.
He said that First Information Report (FIR) against the miscreants would be lodged under anti terrorism sections, adding that staging a protest was a constitutional right of the citizens, but resorting to violence would be dealt with legally.
Separately, spokesman for provincial government Shahid Rind, while condemning attack on polio teams in Chaman, has said that district administration Chaman was taking legal action against the persons responsible of the attack, adding that no one would be allowed to take the law into his hands.
