Balochistan Chief Minister, Mir Sarfraz Bugti, on Wednesday said that traditions of Baloch do not allow pulling passengers off buses before gunning them down.
These views were expressed by him while addressing a function held to distribute cheques amongst students (girls and boys) under Shaheed Benazir Bhutto scholarship program through Balochistan Education Endowment Fund. He said government and its performance could annoy anyone but one could not be annoyed from the state.
He said that Balochistan Youth Policy had been framed to bring youth of the province closer to the state and to provide ample opportunities of development to the youth. Bugti remarked in order to end the sense of deprivation, it was inevitable to make education easily accessible. He said that the incumbent provincial government had implemented its education friendly vision. He said, ‘You all the future of Balochistan and Pakistan and it is my promise with you that the said program will be extended’. He said that under the said program about 200 students would be enrolled in the best universities of the world, adding that transgender would also be included in the said program.
He said that a program to impart vocational training upon 30000 youth was being implemented besides granting interest free loans to the youth of the province on easy instalment under Akhuwat program. He said, ‘Henceforth no one would be allowed to sell jobs’, adding that in future appointment in government departments would be made on contract basis to ensure merit and transparency. He said that network of development schemes would be laid in every district of the province without any discrimination. Mir Sarfraz Bugti distributed scholarship cheques amongst 2500 students.
Function was addressed by provincial ministers Mir Zahoor Ahmed Buledi, Mir Asim Kurd Gilo, Chief Secretary Balochistan, Shakeel Qadir Khan, Secretary Finance Department, Babar Khan, Chief Executive Officer, BEEF, Balochistan, Zakarya Khan Nurzai and others. On the occasion, Secretary, Population Welfare Department, Abdullah Khan, Secretary, Minority Affairs Department, Sala-ud-Din Nurzai and others were also present.
