Police Foundation to Fund Officers’ AI Degrees Abroad in Major Welfare Push

The National Police Foundation (NPF) will fund overseas Artificial Intelligence degrees for senior officers and sponsor foreign police-related courses for junior ranks as part of a major new welfare initiative.

According to a report by MOIB today, the foundation will also cover the higher education expenses for the children of fifteen constables at Pakistan”s premier universities.

The decisions were finalised during a meeting at the NPF headquarters, chaired by Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi. During the session, the minister sought a comprehensive plan to further increase the foundation”s resources.

Under the new scholarship programme, five officers holding the rank of Superintendent (SP) or Senior Superintendent (SSP) will be sent abroad each year to pursue degrees in Artificial Intelligence.

Furthermore, ten Inspectors, Sub-Inspectors, and Assistant Sub-Inspectors from across Pakistan will be selected annually for scholarships to attend police-related courses overseas.

In a move to support the families of police constables, it was also decided that the NPF will bear all educational expenses for the sons or daughters of fifteen constables who secure admission to any of Pakistan’s top-tier universities.

The Interior Minister emphasised that the National Police Foundation must be transformed into a highly active and dynamic institution dedicated to the welfare of police personnel.
