DI KHAN: Former Member of the National Assembly (MNA) and prominent Pashtun Tahafuz Movement (PTM) leader, Ali Wazir, was apprehended by the police on Tuesday in Dera Ismail Khan area in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

Authorities reported that Wazir was taken into custody in the Darazanda area while he was returning from Quetta. The arrest is said to be linked to a case registered at the Sadar Police Station in DI Khan.

This isn’t the first time Ali Wazir has faced legal actions, as he was previously arrested in August following his participation in a PTM rally in Islamabad. In a notable development earlier this year, Wazir was released from a Karachi jail in February after spending over two years behind bars. His detention, which began in December 2020, was related to multiple sedition cases.

Ali Wazir, representing South Waziristan’s NA-50,and ten other individuals were initially arrested over allegations of delivering an anti-state speech in Karachi.
