PM’s aide inaugurates first issue of FMC’s official journal

The Federal Medical College (FMC), Islamabad on Wednesday achieved a significant milestone with the inauguration of 1st issue of its official journal.

The FMC, Islamabad, is the first and only public sector medical college of the federal capital, under the administrative control of the Ministry of National Health Services, Regulations and Coordination.

The event was graced by the Coordinator to the Prime Minister on Health, Dr Malik Mukhtar Ahmed Bharath, as the chief guest, held at his office in Islamabad.

The initiative represents a remarkable stride towards fostering research and academic excellence within the medical community.

Speaking on the occasion, Dr Malik Mukhtar Ahmed Bharath lauded strides made by the FMC under the leadership of its Principal, Prof Dr S. H Waqar for the FMC’s Journal of its own.

Dr Bharath recognized the pivotal role that the Journal will play in advancing research in the medical field, which is crucial for the development of healthcare systems in Pakistan.

He confirmed that the Ministry will continue its unwavering support for FMC, ensuring the allocation of necessary resources, including budget provisions for upcoming projects like the construction of building.

FMC’s Principal, Prof Dr S. H Waqar, highlighted the journal’s vision to serve as a platform for publishing cutting-edge medical research that addresses national and global health challenges.

He emphasized the journal’s role in advancing medical knowledge, providing an avenue for the faculty and students to showcase their contributions to the medical field.

He also expressed his gratitude to the government and the Ministry of National Health Services, Regulations and Coordination for their unwavering support in making this milestone possible.

According to an official statement, this launch reaffirms FMC’s commitment to creating a research-oriented academic environment and elevating Pakistan’s standing in the global medical community.

The inaugural issue represents the dedication of FMC’s faculty and students to advancing medical science and improving healthcare outcomes.

The event was attended by esteemed faculty members, medical professionals, and students, who celebrated this landmark achievement and shared their aspirations for the journal’s future contributions to the medical field.
