PML-N always struggled for judiciary’s prestige, empowerment: Maryam

ISLAMABAD: PML-N Senior Vice President Maryam Nawaz has said that her party always struggled for the prestige of the judiciary and its empowerment.

Addressing the Lawyers’ Convention in Rawalpindi on Wednesday, she said she came to the lawyer fraternity to save Pakistan.

Maryam Nawaz said PML-N always stood in support of the judiciary against dictatorship. She said lawyers are the proud of the party and we always took steps for their welfare. Addressing the Convention, Interior Minister Rana Sanaullah said we believe in power of vote and are not escaping from holding the elections. He said elections should be held with consensus of all the stakeholders.

The Minister said holding elections in two provincial assemblies will deteriorate the situation and warned that any kind of disputed polls would take the country towards anarchy and destabilization. In his speech, Minister for Law Azam Nazeer Tarar said welfare and security of the legal community is foremost priority of the government. He also lauded the role of the lawyers for democracy and in speedy dispensation of justice.
