Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has instructed formulation of a roadmap for Pakistan’s relief program for Palestine within three days.
He was chairing a meeting in Islamabad today (Tuesday) to review progress on sending relief goods from Pakistan to Gaza and Palestine.
The Prime Minister emphasized that leading NGOs in the country should be included in the relief activities. He further said that maximum support should be provided to students from Gaza in Pakistan’s educational institutions. He said that participation from both public and private sectors should be ensured in this regard.
It was briefed that, so far, ten consignments of relief goods, comprising medicines, food items, and clothes totaling one thousand eight hundred and ten tons, have been sent to Palestine from Pakistan over the past year.
The meeting was informed that the government is bringing back seventy-one stranded Pakistanis from Lebanon, and further steps are being taken to evacuate more Pakistani citizens from war-torn areas.
