Planning Minister Launches Construction of Key Link Road in Narowal

NAROWAL: Planning Minister Ahsan Iqbal inaugurated a pivotal construction project today, marking the beginning of a new link road that will connect the railway station to Sialkot Phatak in Narowal city. The 1.5-kilometer-long road, with a budget of 200 million rupees, is expected to be completed within five months. In addition to the road, the project includes plans to widen and improve the existing sewerage system.

According to Radio Pakistan, the new road aims to alleviate traffic congestion around the Narowal Railway Station and provide better access for Sikh pilgrims traveling to Kartarpur. The construction is anticipated to enhance the flow of traffic significantly, thereby easing travel in a region that has seen increasing congestion due to growing transportation demands.

During the inauguration ceremony, Ahsan Iqbal emphasized the project’s potential to boost commercial activities in the area. He expressed optimism that the improved infrastructure would not only facilitate better transport but also contribute to the economic prosperity of Narowal. By enhancing connectivity, the project is expected to attract more business opportunities and increase local commerce.

The initiative reflects a broader commitment to enhancing regional infrastructure and improving the quality of life for residents. With the completion of this project, officials hope to see a marked improvement in the accessibility and economic dynamism of Narowal, aligning with national development goals.
