Planning Minister expresses condolences over tragic deaths of Power China engineers

Federal Minister for Planning, Development, and Special Initiatives, Ahsan Iqbal, on Wednesday expressed profound grief and sorrow in Beijing over the tragic deaths of Power China engineers in a terrorist attack that occurred in November 2024.

On behalf of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, Ahsan Iqbal extended condolences to the management of Power China and the bereaved families, says a press release received here from Beijing.

He conveyed that the entire Pakistani nation stands in solidarity with them during this difficult time. Condemning the cowardly attack, Ahsan Iqbal stated, ‘The handlers of these terrorists aim to roll back the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) project.

However, such actions will never weaken the deep-rooted friendship and brotherhood between Pakistan and China.’ He assured that the Government of Pakistan has further strengthened security arrangements for engineers and staff working on CPEC projects to prevent such incidents in the future.

Reaffirming Pakistan’s commitment to CPEC, the Minister added that the pace of CPEC 2.0 will not slow down; rather, it will achieve new heights, ensuring development and prosperity for both nations.
