LAHORE: Punjab Higher Education Department (PHED) has decided to fill over 100 colleges head that has been functioning without full-time principal across the province including five colleges in Lahore, it emerged on Wednesday.
According to a report, Township College, Model Town College, Queen Marry College, and Ravi Road College are being treated as foster children because they are running without permanent/full-time principals. The responsibilities of principals are performed by either in charge or professors on an ad-hoc basis and this lapse is creating administrative and academic issues.
However, there is a silver lining visible in the future as Higher Education Department (HED) will fill these vacant positions as soon as possible. For this purpose, the department has received a number of applications, and interviews of the shortlisted applicants/candidates will be conducted the next week for the vacant posts of principals. A substantial decision is expected soon, stated the spokesperson of the Higher Education Department.
