The exploration activities of the Petroleum Division with the support of Special Investment Facilitation Council (SIFC) have witnessed a significant progress during the last few weeks.
The Petroleum Division has been directed to enhance liaison with the stakeholders of China and Saudi Arabia in collaboration with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and present a consensus position on Pakistan’s offshore blocks in the upcoming meeting.
According to a Radio Pakistan’s report, the Petroleum Division has been further directed to organize an inter-provincial meeting on the regulatory framework of minerals in collaboration with the inter-provincial coordination committee.
Special Secretary Petroleum Division informed the meeting that all the federal government projects related to minerals have been transferred to the new minerals wing for which the services of consultants are being hired.
He said the Petroleum Division has been instructed to work with the Ministry of External Affairs on the option of importing LPG from Turkmenistan, which will improve the supply of energy resources in the country.
It was informed that Reko Diq project is introducing advanced mining and processing technologies in Pakistan that will promote technical expertise and technology.
This project will not only strengthen Pakistan’s mineral industry, but also promote Pakistan’s image globally.
