ISLAMABAD: At the United Nations Pakistan has warned that world peace is threatened by supply of advanced arms and technologies to the states harboring extremist ideologies.
Taking part in the debate in the UN Security Council, Pakistan deputy permanent representative to the UN Ambassador Aamir Khan said peace and security is threatened by the ultra-nationalist and hegemonic policies of some states, according to a Radio Pakistan’s report.
He said these states seek to build up conventional and nuclear weapons capabilities to threaten neighbours, impose regional hegemony, and promote great power aspirations. The Pakistani envoy said these states have been emboldened by lack of global accountability and the generous supply of advanced weapons and technologies from multiple sources.
