PCDMA Warns of Looming Tax Chaos Amid IRIS Portal Glitches

The Pakistan Chemicals and Dyes Merchants Association (PCDMA) has made an urgent plea to the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) to push the sales tax return filing deadline to May 31, 2025, due to significant technical glitches.

PCDMA Chairman Salim Valimuhammad raised alarms about the recent IRIS portal updates, which have introduced severe complications. These technical snags have rendered it nearly unfeasible for taxpayers to comply with the existing deadline despite their earnest attempts.

Valimuhammad emphasized that calculation errors in the newly integrated Annex H1 and Annex J have obstructed the majority of taxpayers from completing their March 2025 sales tax returns. He appealed to the FBR chairman to extend the deadline until these technical issues are rectified, ensuring that taxpayers can fulfill their obligations seamlessly.
