PCB Bids Farewell to Communications Director Sami Ul Hasan

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) today announced the departure of Sami Ul Hasan from his position as Director of Media and Communications, effective after the ICC Champions Trophy 2025. Sami, who first joined the PCB in 2002 and returned in 2019, had informed the board in December 2024 of his decision to step down.

Sami’s career with the PCB has been distinguished by his extensive experience, including a 13-year tenure with the International Cricket Council (ICC) in Dubai where he served as Head of Media and Communications. His first stint with the PCB saw him as General Manager – Media after a lengthy career as a cricket correspondent for the Dawn newspaper.

PCB Chief Operating Officer Sumair Ahmad Syed expressed appreciation for Sami’s contributions, noting his role in advancing the board’s media and communication strategies. Sumair acknowledged the significant improvements in stakeholder engagement, both locally and globally, under Sami’s leadership, particularly during the lead-up to the ICC Champions Trophy 2025.

Reflecting on his time at the PCB, Sami Ul Hasan shared his satisfaction with the growth and professionalism of the Media, Communications and Digital team. He expressed gratitude to his colleagues and the media fraternity for their support, indicating his eagerness to embark on the next chapter of his career.
