PCAA expedites work on airports security protocols ahead of EASA’s visit in November

KARACHI:A security delegation of the European Union Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) will visit the major airports of Pakistan in November and December.

According to a report on Tuesday, the Pakistan Civil Aviation Authority (PCAA) has directed the Pakistani airports to complete their preparations for the physical audit by the EASA.

The EASA has completed its remote audit of the Pakistan International Airlines and Pakistan Civil Aviation Authority. Now it will conduct the physical audit of the Pakistani airport to resume PIA flights to Europe and the UK.

For this purpose, a security delegation of EASA will visit Pakistan in November and December.

The PCAA has accelerated work on the installation of security protocols at three major airports of the country.

The national aviation authority has given a deadline to the airport authorities to complete work on scanners installations at the airports by November.

The PCAA will implement EASA’s security protocols at its international airports.

After the physical audit of the EASA, the PIA will be able to restart its direct flights to Europe and the United Kingdom.
