President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif today issued a joint call for unified national efforts to ensure the protection, welfare, and education of all children in Pakistan.

In separate messages commemorating World Children’s Day, the nation’s leaders urged a broad coalition of civil society, human rights bodies, the media, parents, educators, and religious scholars to collaborate in fostering a secure and supportive environment for the country’s youth.

President Zardari emphasized that the occasion serves as a reminder of the “shared responsibility to build a future where every child can enjoy fundamental rights, free from discrimination and exploitation.” He framed the protection of children”s entitlements as a “moral duty” that extends beyond mere legal commitments and demands collective focus.

Prime Minister Sharif highlighted this year’s theme, ‘My Day, My Rights,’ noting its significance in recognizing the individual and collective rights of youngsters on both national and international stages.

The Prime Minister affirmed that shielding children from harm remains a “critical governmental priority.” He further stated that the government is undertaking every possible measure to provide educational facilities for talented students throughout the country.
