Jamaat-e-Islami Sindh leader Kashif Saeed Sheikh has stated that Pakistan’s Islamic identity is under serious threat. In his address on the 78th Independence Day, Sheikh emphasized that Pakistan represents an ideology and philosophy that must be protected. He warned against conspiracies seeking to undermine these foundational principles and pledged to continue the struggle for a truly Islamic, welfare, and democratic state.

Sheikh expressed regret that even after 78 years, Pakistan has not progressed according to its potential. He noted that citizens are denied justice, children lack access to education, and youth are deprived of employment opportunities. He attributed these shortcomings to the rule of “British agents” along with political and economic disruptors, whom he held responsible for the nation’s woes. Citing the Hamoodur Rahman Commission, he argued that the failure to hold those who divided the country accountable has led to the current challenges.

The Jamaat-e-Islami leader reiterated his commitment to Quaid-e-Azam’s vision of an Islamic welfare state modeled after the State of Madinah. He criticized previous governments, including the current ruling elite, military rulers, feudal lords, and wealthy businessmen for plundering the country and disregarding the Objectives Resolution. He highlighted the lack of access to justice, education, clean water, and fair employment opportunities, and condemned the interest-based financial system.

Sheikh reaffirmed Jamaat-e-Islami’s dedication to a corruption-free Pakistan operating under Sharia law. He urged the public to support Jamaat-e-Islami in its mission to establish a truly Islamic, welfare, and democratic state. Jamaat-e-Islami Sindh will observe Independence Day with motorcycle rallies, fireworks, and flag-hoisting ceremonies across the province to raise awareness among the youth about the nation’s true purpose.
